Who we need

The Commonwealth Games in Birmingham opens on 27 July 2022. We are looking for a Project Manager who understands the significance of delivering projects, with immovable deadlines, on time within a public sector environment. If that is you, and you have a successful track record of delivering complex, multi-agency projects, then we have several transport projects for you, within the Commonwealth Games Integrated Transport Programme, to deliver on behalf of Games partners.

Working in a fast-paced environment, with fixed deadlines, you must be self-motivated and flexible, committed to making this the best Games experience possible for our customers; athletes, visitors, businesses and residents alike. You will be required to build relationships and work collaboratively with a range of partners and stakeholders at times in high pressure situations, where a calm head and ability to work effectively under pressure is essential.

Birmingham 2022 includes 19 sports, bringing together more than 12,000 athletes, Games Family and international media for 11 days of top-class competition in amazing venues.

Who we are

Transport for West Midlands (TfWM) plans, develops and manages an integrated transport system for the West Midlands that is reliable, affordable and accessible for all. It is the transport arm of the West Midlands Combined Authority.

A standard setter in the industry, our achievements are regularly recognised nationally, most importantly as the winner of ‘City Region Authority of the Year’ in 2016, 2017 and 2019 at the National Transport Awards.

Whether it’s developing and delivering new infrastructure, collaborating on future mobility projects, operating the West Midlands Metro or helping customers to keep moving, we need creative and innovative talent to join our already excellent team and help us make a real difference to residents, businesses and visitors travelling in and around the West Midlands.

This is a remote working opportunity until a date is agreed for the WMCA workforce to return to our usual place of work at 16 Summer Lane, Birmingham.
