Our Legal and Governance team works across the organisation delivering legal, governance and audit advice and support. We have recently agreed a new structure for legal services which is being implemented and which will provide a solid foundation to build on the existing strengths of a team that already knows what the organisation needs. Partnership working is key for us – not only within the Combined Authority but with colleagues in our seven Metropolitan Councils and the private sector.
We are now looking for a number of Legal Business Partners to be part of our growing Legal Services team. Joining at an exciting time, you will work collaboratively with the client departments to deliver wide-ranging, innovative projects across the West Midlands region.
As Legal Business Partner, you will be a core part of the client team providing advice, solutions and support on complex and challenging work in your assigned business area. We have several vacancies in the newly-structured team providing legal advice and support to the following business areas:
• Rail and Metro
• Assets and Housing and Regeneration
• Strategic Transport and Corporate Services
• Inclusive Communities, Productivity and Public Service Reform
When completing your application, please ensure you complete the declaration section to indicate which role(s) you are applying for.
You will be a qualified solicitor, FILEX or barrister with substantial experience of providing advice in the relevant legal area and have an excellent understanding of the legal issues (including the legislative framework) that affect a Mayoral Combined Authority.
You will be commercial in your outlook, be able to communicate confidently with a wide range of stakeholders (both internal and external), be able to collaborate effectively with others, self-motivated, persuasive and resilient with the ability to work well under pressure.
You will need to demonstrate in your application how your experience meets the criteria of the role you are applying for.
