Black Country Women’s Aid (BCWA) is an established charity working across the Black Country and wider West Midlands providing accommodation and community support services to victims of domestic abuse, sexual abuse and human trafficking. Services range from advocacy, civil remedies, support in court, individual and group support and access to a range of therapeutic interventions. All services are client and needs led.

The team:

BCWA’s specialist Women’s Justice Services work with women who may find it harder to access services than others.

This includes the Mariposa Project for women who are on probation or leaving prison, and the New Chance project for women who have been arrested. We also have the Willow Project, which supports women who are homeless or at risk of being homeless in the Black Country.

Job Role

Job Title: New Chance Worker- Complex Needs Specialist
Position available: 1 full-time position (37.5 hours), based across the Black Country funded until March 2022
Salary: £21,057 – £23,394.96
Closing date: 22nd October 2021

Is this you?

We are looking for an exceptional candidate to join our New Chance Early Intervention Project, working alongside the West Midlands Police Force. New Chance is a specialist project for women in Sandwell and Dudley who have been arrested and who the Police think might need some support.

The Role:

You will offer practical and emotional support and intervention based on specialist comprehensive assessment and tailored to individual needs. You will work collaboratively with women, placing them at the centre of what you deliver.
You will manage a caseload of women with multiple needs, providing holistic coordinated support.

You will work at our offices in Dudley and West Bromwich, and from the custody blocks in Sandwell.

You will receive appropriate training to undertake the duties of the job on and on and offsite basis and all situations are risk assessed.
